Parish Finance Committee are consultative bodies set up to advise the Parish Priest on sound administration of the temporal goods of the parish and to ensure compliance with the laws concerning charities.
What do they do?
- They meet several times a year for the following:
- The preparation and monitoring of the annual parish budget.
- To present the annual parish Accounts.
- To keep financial records that detail income and expenditure as outlined by the Diocesan, Canon and Civil (Charity) law.
- To make forward provision for future projects. To ensure all procedures for the proper administration of Gift Aid are carried out.
- To examine proposals and decide on funding for church and presbytery development and maintenance.
- To address any other project as requested by the Parish Priest and Parish Pastoral committee.
Who are they?
They are volunteer parishioners who have some experience in managing budgets, property management, Health and Safety and/or accountancy.

New Parish Treasurer Vacancy (May 2025)
Expressions of interest are invited for the role of Parish Treasurer, to replace
Ian Fraser who will be standing down later in the year after many years of loyal service. A formal accounting qualification is not required for the role, but a knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles is very desirable. Further information about the role is available on request. Anyone interested should contact Fr Oliver in the first instance.
